AI Golf Coach is a Canadian golf coaching application powered by Ace, your personal AI golf professional. We are based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and operate under Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA).

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password (encrypted). You may optionally provide your age range, dominant hand, handicap, experience level, typical score, play frequency, and golf goals. You may sign in using Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, in which case we receive basic profile information from those providers.
We collect golf data you enter including round scores, course names, fairways hit, greens in regulation, putts, birdies, pars, bogeys, shot-by-shot logging data, and other scoring statistics. We also collect launch monitor data including club speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance, and related metrics. Shot tracking and ball flight visualisation data is collected when you use those features.
With your permission, we collect swing videos and photos you record or upload for analysis by Ace Studio. These files are stored securely in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage and are associated with your account and accessible only to you. Uploaded media is used solely to provide swing analysis and coaching feedback.
We do not use uploaded swing videos or photos to train AI models. We do not share them with third parties except as required to operate the cloud storage service.
When you use the GPS Round Tracker feature, we collect your precise GPS location approximately every 5 seconds throughout your round. This includes latitude, longitude, timestamp, and accuracy data. Location tracking continues in the background when the app is minimised during an active round.
GPS data is stored locally on your device during the round, uploaded to our servers when you save the round, used only to generate your round replay map and calculate distances, never shared with third parties, and deleted when you delete the round or your account.
You can revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings, which will disable the GPS round tracker feature. Location data is not collected when a round is not actively being tracked.
When you use the live scoring game features, we collect game session data including scores, game type, participating player display names, hole-by-hole results, and game outcomes. This data is stored with your account and is not shared publicly.
We collect practice session data including drill history, completed exercises, fitness screening results, workout session duration, and mental game session history.
When you use The Clubhouse social features, we collect posts you create, comments, likes, and follow relationships. All posts in The Clubhouse are visible to all registered users of AI Golf Coach by default — there is no private posting mode. You control whether your Locker (golf profile statistics) is visible to other users. Content you post remains visible to other users until you delete it.
We send in-app notifications for activity related to your account, such as new followers and replies to your comments. These notifications appear within the app only and are not push notifications sent to your device when the app is closed.
We automatically collect device type, operating system, and app version. We use Expo Analytics to collect crash reports, screen view data, and session information to help us identify and fix technical issues and understand how the app is used. This data is developer-facing only — it is used internally to improve the app and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising. We do not use third-party advertising analytics or tracking pixels. Our website uses only functional cookies necessary to operate the site and does not use tracking or marketing cookies.

We do not use your golf data, swing videos, or personal information to train AI models. We do not sell your data. We do not display advertising.
Our legal bases for processing your data are: performance of our contract with you (providing the service), our legitimate interests in improving the app and preventing fraud, your consent where required (camera, location), and compliance with legal obligations.
AI Golf Coach collects your location in the background ONLY when you have actively started a GPS round tracking session.
Background location collection only occurs during an active tracked round — it automatically stops when you end the round, is clearly indicated in the app with an active round indicator, uses approximately 8–12% battery over a 4-hour round, and can be stopped at any time by ending the round or revoking location permissions.
We never collect background location outside of active round tracking sessions. iOS users will see a blue status bar indicator when background location is active. We request “Always” location permission solely to support uninterrupted round tracking when the app is backgrounded during a round.
Our AI coaching feature uses a tiered approach. Free tier coaching insights — including Ace Studio swing analysis up to the monthly session limit — are generated by our proprietary rules engine. This data does not leave our own servers. Premium tier coaching uses Anthropic’s Claude API — when you request a premium AI analysis, relevant golf data and your profile information is sent to Anthropic’s servers to generate coaching responses. Anthropic’s privacy policy applies to premium AI data processing. We do not send personally identifying information beyond what is needed for coaching context. No GPS or location data is ever sent to Anthropic.
We use Expo Analytics to collect app crash reports, performance data, and anonymised usage statistics. This data is used internally by our development team to identify bugs and improve the app. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or shared with third parties.
We use Supabase to store your account data, golf statistics, game scores, social posts, and app data. Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption and row-level security policies that ensure only you can access your own data.
Swing videos and photos you upload are stored in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage with access controls tied to your account. Cloudflare’s privacy policy applies to this storage service.
Our GPS caddie feature uses a third-party Golf Course API to retrieve course layout information. No personal data is shared with this service.
If you use Sign In with Apple or Google Sign In, those providers share basic profile information with us (name and email). Their respective privacy policies govern the data they collect from you.
AI Golf Coach requests access to your device camera, microphone, and photo library solely for recording and uploading swing videos and photos for Ace Studio analysis. We will never:

When you upload swing videos, photos, or post content to The Clubhouse, you represent and warrant that you own all rights to that content or have obtained all necessary permissions. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.

All posts, comments, and activity in The Clubhouse are visible to all registered users of AI Golf Coach. There is no private posting mode. You can control whether your Locker (golf stats and performance profile) is visible to other users through your account settings. If you do not wish your posts to be visible to other users, do not post in The Clubhouse. You can delete your posts at any time and they will be removed immediately.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not display advertising and do not share data with advertisers. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
You can delete your account at any time from within the app via the drawer menu → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all personal data, golf statistics, swing videos, game history, social posts, and AI coaching history.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is deleted within 30 days except where legally required to retain it. Swing videos, GPS data, game data, social posts, and AI analysis history are deleted immediately upon account deletion or individual deletion requests.
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data. Additional rights apply depending on your location:
EU and UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing are contractual necessity, legitimate interests, and consent.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
All users: You may revoke location and camera permissions at any time through your device settings. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.

AI Golf Coach is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), encrypted password storage, secure cloud storage via Supabase and Cloudflare R2, row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data, server-side rate limiting on AI features, and regular security reviews. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your data may be processed and stored on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where our service providers (Supabase, Anthropic, Cloudflare, Expo) operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers in compliance with PIPEDA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws. By using AI Golf Coach from outside Canada you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in Canada and the United States.
Our website uses only functional cookies necessary to operate the site. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing analytics on our website.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of AI Golf Coach after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
